Getting Started

How do I install Staff Hub?

Visit the Shopify App Store and click "Add app" on the Staff Hub listing. Follow the prompts to authorize the app for your store. Installation takes less than a minute.

Is there a free plan?

Yes! Our Free plan includes up to 10 staff members, 5 training modules, announcements, and a staff directory. It's perfect for small teams getting started with employee training.

How do my staff members access the platform?

Staff members can access the platform in two ways: through an embedded portal in your Shopify store (using app blocks), or via a direct link you share with them. They'll log in with their email address and a password you set up.

Can I try the paid features before committing?

Yes! All paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. You can test all features and only get charged if you decide to continue after the trial period.

Features

What types of training content can I create?

You can create training modules with multiple lessons, including text content, images, videos (via embedded links), and quizzes. Organize modules into learning paths for structured onboarding or skill development programs.

Can staff members share knowledge with each other?

Absolutely! The Tips feature allows staff to share best practices, product knowledge, and helpful hints with the team. Admins can review and approve tips before they're published.

How does progress tracking work?

Staff Hub automatically tracks lesson completion, quiz scores, and overall training progress. Admins can view detailed analytics showing completion rates, time spent, and individual staff progress.

What are badges and how do they work?

Badges are digital achievements awarded to staff for completing training, sharing tips, or reaching milestones. They appear on staff profiles and help motivate engagement. Admins can create custom badges too.

Can I customize the platform with my branding?

Yes, on Basic plans and above you can add your company logo, customize colors, and personalize the staff portal to match your brand identity.

Billing & Plans

How does billing work?

All billing is handled through Shopify's secure billing system. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your Shopify admin.

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

We'll notify you when you're approaching limits. You won't lose access - you'll just need to upgrade to continue adding new staff members or training modules beyond your plan's limits.

Can I change plans at any time?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and billing is prorated accordingly.

What's your refund policy?

If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days, contact us for a full refund. After that, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Shopify's policies.

Data & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit, encrypt sensitive data at rest, and follow security best practices. We're hosted on enterprise-grade infrastructure with regular security audits.

What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?

When you uninstall Staff Hub, your data is retained for 30 days in case you change your mind. After that, it's permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion by contacting support.

Can I export my data?

Yes, you can export your training content, staff list, and analytics data at any time. Contact support if you need a full data export.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes. We comply with GDPR and other privacy regulations. Users can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Technical Questions

Does Staff Hub work with all Shopify themes?

Yes! Staff Hub uses Shopify's app blocks system, which is compatible with all Online Store 2.0 themes. For older themes, we provide a direct link portal that works independently.

Will Staff Hub slow down my store?

No. Staff Hub loads asynchronously and doesn't affect your storefront performance. The staff portal is completely separate from your customer-facing store.

Do you have an API?

API access is available on Enterprise plans. This allows you to integrate Staff Hub with your existing HR systems, LMS platforms, or custom applications.

Can I use Staff Hub on multiple stores?

Each Shopify store requires its own Staff Hub installation and subscription. Contact us about multi-store discounts if you manage several locations.
